Our engineers, scientists, and technology consultants provide innovative solutions for infrastructure engineering, environmental and municipal organizational management challenges.Position Description: RIVUS is looking for a mid-level to senior environmental planner, scientist or engineer for its Lanham, Maryland office to prepare and manage pollution including toxics reduction planning and implementation at a watershed scale. The main responsibilities of the candidate would be as follows:Developing policies and toxics implementation strategies in coordination with federal, state and local agenciesCoordinate with watershed stakeholders to implement pollution control strategiesImplement policies, strategies, and programs that help achieve water quality standardsDevelop MS4 and TMDLs implementation plans specially as it relates to PCBs and toxicsPerform pollutant load and water quality modelingDevelop source identification plansDevelop a sampling and / or monitoring strategy for urban source identificationRecommend alternatives for remedial treatmentTrack implementation progress and prepare progress reportsMinimum Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Planning, Science or EngineeringA Masters Degree is a plusStrong written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills8-15 years of relevant experience including implementing policies, strategies, and programs that help achieve water quality standardsExperience with watershed planning and managementPollutant load modeling at a watershed scalePrior consulting experience working with municipal clientsGIS skillsWe reward your commitment with an attractive salary and full roster of competitive benefits.
