| Job Description : | As the Roadway Design Project Manager, you will oversee all work completed in the Roadway Design group and lead, manage, and hold accountable the associates assigned to the Roadway Design group. You will work with the Director of Civil Engineering to provide reporting, management, and execution of roadway design projects, as well as oversee Quality Control efforts for Roadway Design. As Roadway Design Project Manager, you will support business development efforts of the Director of Civil Engineering and the Business Development & Marketing department.You must be willing to work in either one of the following DAVENPORT offices: Raleigh, NC; Winston Salem, NC; Wilmington, NC; Asheville, NC; Charlotte, NC or Richmond, VA.You must be an individual who is highly proactive and a strong communicator. Experience in managing and performing roadway engineering including areas such as roadway design, pavement marking & signing, work zone/traffic control plans, sidewalks, multiuse paths, etc. is mandatory. You should be familiar with NCDOT standards and the encroachment/driveway permit process, as well as experience preparing quantiles and cost estimates.Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvides project management including planning, developing, implementing, managing, and evaluating design projects to ensure objectives are met.Interfaces directly with clients and supervises subcontractors for project implementation.Provides senior level roadway design and project management expertise.Oversees and participates in the preparation of design drawings in accordance with various federal, state, and municipal standards governing the design of roadway engineering projects.Trains and coaches junior engineers in roadway design.Prepares design drawings using MicroStation/GEOPAK, AutoTURN, and/or similar type software.
