Job Description : | Job no: 498525 College / VP Area: College of Engineering Work type: Faculty Location: Newark Categories: Civil & Environmental Engineering, Full Time UNIVERSITY OF DELAWARE GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING FACULTY POSITION Position Statement: Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The successful applicant will: 1) Establish an externally funded research program in geotechnical engineering and related areas; 2) advise, mentor, train, and support graduate students; 3) advise, mentor, train, and support undergraduate students in research and professional development; 4) work with state and government agencies on basic and applied research; 5) work on interdisciplinary teams to tackle pressing problems in geotechnical engineering; and 6) promote diversity, equity , and inclusion within the discipline, Department, and University. About UD: The University of Delaware provides an outstanding research base for interdisciplinary research. Within the Department, research programs exist in structural, environmental, coastal, transportation, civil infrastructure, railway, and construction engineering, with a strong focus on sustainability in the built and natural environments.
