With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA’s Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA’s metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. The Surfscan group includes a team of engineers, technology development, apps engineers and product marketing focused on technology that enables wafer, IC and equipment manufacturers to develop, qualify and monitor their process tools. Defects and process non-uniformities detected on Surfscan equipment allow for early identification of yield excursions. The flagship Surfscan products include the SPx platforms for wafer surface quality and wafer defect inspection tools and systems for inspection of polished wafers, epi wafers and engineered substrates during the wafer fabrication process.

Responsibilities
Develop new concepts of vacuum system for wafer inspection tools.
Participate in architecture conceptual design, designing and building hardware and test fixtures for concept validation.
Design and build test benches, c onduct feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs.
Design and analyze vacuum systems to integrate it with other critical equipment.
Solve complex system problems across optics, vacuum systems, electronics, mechanics, robotics, motions systems.
Define requirements vacuum platform including critical vacuum components, provide oversight and collaboration with the vendors.
Take responsibility for the system development process, from requirements specification to analysis, prototyping, testing, debugging, writing assembly procedures.
Proficiency with vacuum systems controls will allow to get going quickly, while strong problem solving and analytical skills will help identify gaps in our controls design and quality issues with components and software logic.

Qualifications
Experience in vacuum system design gas flow analysis
Understand fundamentals of mechanical engineering, including design principles, tolerance, error budget, materials and machining process.
Proficient with CAD software. SolidWorks skill is preferred.
Have experience in two or more types of FEA analysis: stress, thermal, vibration and flow analysis.
Desirable to have experience in one or more of these areas: optics, optical mounting and alignment, precision mechanical design, instrumentation, metrology, flexure, semiconductor equipment, motion controls, electronics and lasers.
Innovative, technically broad and solidly grounded
Minimum Qualifications
Doctorate (Academic) or work experience of 0 years , Master’s Level Degree or work experience of 2 years , Bachelor’s Level Degree or work experience of 3 years
