Please see below for additional information:The Supplier Quality Engineer position is responsible for maintaining and continuously improving upon the established supplier quality program to better support Quality, Production, Engineering and Purchasing goals. Working closely with the Purchasing, Engineering, and Quality Assurance teams this position will support operational excellence by analyzing and aggregating supplier trends and making recommendations for improvement.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS1. Partner with the QA Manager and other leadership team members to determine annual supplier quality objectives.2. Develop, implement, and maintain a supplier scorecard that monitors supplier quality, delivery and other metrics that track the general performance of the supplier3. Collaborate with Purchasing Dept. and suppliers to assure that quality issues are addressed, and corrective actions are in place and being properly managed to assure root cause analysis and corrective action reporting4. Conduct assessments of suppliers’ quality system capability through audits, inspection/return data analysis, and questionnaires for both new & ongoing supplier approval5. Work with suppliers to develop quality control plans and drive implementation6. Develop, train, and support receiving inspection plans to ensure quality sustainment from approved suppliers.ADDITIONAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES1. Identify supplier quality risks to proactively pursue approval of alternate suppliers2. Ensure non-conforming supplier product is appropriately quarantined and returned/scrapped/released after disposition.3. Work with Engineering to provide suppliers with easy to interpret drawings and inspection documents.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS1. 3+ years of experience in a Supplier Quality Engineering role2. BA or BS degree in technical discipline3. Advanced QA skills, including Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Actions, interpreting engineering drawings, supplier audits, gauging & tolerancing, and the development of inspection plans4. Able to use all tools and equipment necessary for the job, including calipers, micrometers, thread plug and ring gages, ID/OD ring gages, electronic data collection devices, statistical process control database (Quantum SPC), Mil thickness tester, Holiday tester, optical comparator, digital readout, digital thread comparators, digital indicators,5. Able to perform visual inspections6. Effective computer skills, including Microsoft Office7. Strong communication and customer relations skills8. Strong technical writing skills9. Strong organizational skills, including record keeping and documentation filing abilitiesADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS1. Able to operate a reach truck, forklift, walkies, and electric pallet jack2.
