What you will do
Johnson Controls has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Regulatory Compliance Engineer. The Senior Regulatory Compliance Engineer is responsible for ensuring Johnson Controls Access Control and Security product compliance with regulatory requirements for product safety, electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), and hazardous substances restrictions.
How you will do it
Work with design teams to provide guidance, evaluate designs and test for compliance, as well as working with regulatory agencies and their standards to define requirements and to obtain and
Plan and manage all compliance tasks for assigned programs
Perform product safety, utility interconnection and EMC testing and produce formal test reports for agencies, electric utilities and design teams
Evaluate product designs to ensure compliance in final design
Provide interpretations of requirements to design teams
Provide ongoing feedback and data to design teams
Write and maintain the reports required to document regulatory compliance
Work with utilities, agencies and 3rd party test laboratories for the purposes of obtaining testing and evaluation services, maintaining product approvals and obtaining interpretations of requirements.
Perform as a cross-functional team member to achieve the technical schedule and budget objectives of product development projects
Stay current with applicable skills and trends in regulatory compliance
Participate in standard development committees relevant to Schneider Electric’s renewable energy business
What you will need
Required
Bachelors degree in Engineering; preferably Electrical
5+ years of experience in product safety standards compliance
Extensive knowledge of current global regulations, standards, and test methodology applicable to product safety, and ideally utility interconnection, EMC, and hazardous substances restrictions
Ability to read schematics and specifications to perform circuit analysis
Setting up performance testing
Ability to work with multi-disciplined design teams
Preferred
Experience with IEC 62642-1, UL 294, UL 2610, UL 60839-11-1, IEC 62599-1, and/or UL 1076
Tyco Software House product experience
Access Control industry product knowledge and experience
