Job Description : SUMMARYThe Senior Mechanical Engineer for Filtration will help develop and deliver advance technology projects in areas of compressed air filtration and air purification.As a Senior Engineer at SPX FLOW Company, you will play a part in creating products that impact lives and provide value and direction for the filtration industry. In this role you will develop compressed air filtration solutions to meet aggressive company growth goals. You will be responsible for providing compressed air filtration expertise to the design and engineering team, OEM manufacturers and Marketing professionals for new product development.PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDemonstrate innovation and provide value to customers and industry utilizing the tools and resources available in a global technology company.Engage and evaluate customer input and translate into new products, applications, and technologies.Becoming a subject matter expert in the compressed air filtration market.Work with established practices such as NPD to develop new products.Using your mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills to advance engineering projects.Advancing product strategies by meeting program objectives.Managing test programs to ensure products are meeting requirements and expectations.Providing design guidance and input on products.Identifying new opportunities in the marketplace and assist in expanding SPX FLOW IP portfolio.Staying informed of new designs, methods/techniques, materials, quality systems and other technical advances in the air compressor and compressed air filtration industry.Providing technical support to Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing and Engineering through customer visits and/or consultations.Educating others on filtration tools and principles as a market leader in filtration.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Proficient with computers and MS Office software.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering required. Advanced degree preferred.Minimum of 5-years related experience in engineering filtration solutions, preferably in compressed air applicationsDemonstrated ability to create innovative new products incorporating the voice of the customer.Ability to be strategic and visionary driving big picture engineering concepts, while preserving the details.Familiar with new product development process and ISO/TS baes specifications.
