Job Opening for R&D Engineer in ATEK Defense Systems (Spanish Fork, UT)

To ensure success, you should have exceptional mathematical skills, a talent for design, and experience in project management.

Responsibilities:
Meeting with business management, marketing, and the R&D team to discuss product ideas.
Conducting market research and evaluating similar products and their functions.
Collaborating with the engineering and marketing department on product feasibility.
Redesigning existing products to enhance functionality or reduce costs.
Creating design projects and specification sheets.
Presenting product designs to management and stakeholders.
Overseeing the engineering of product prototypes.
Testing prototype products for functionality, ease of use, and longevity.
Overseeing the production process.
Electrical design for in-vehicle systems (cameras, batteries, chargers, inverters, relays, access points, etc)
Assisting with ballistic testing and armor design.
Review of CAD models and drawings for approval.
Process engineering to redesign and optimize workflow and design.
Resolving product issues.
Writing technical papers on materials and technology.
Overseeing the production process.
Conducting marketing research and evaluating similar products and their functions.
Requirements:
Solid understanding of CAD software (specifically Onshape & Solidworks).
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mechanical engineering, or relevant field.
Experience with industrial electronics and programming.
Experience with automotive systems.
Marketing and design experience preferred.
Excellent communication skills.
Experience with project management.
Willingness to travel (15%).
