Job Description : SLR International Corporation is seeking a Project Scientist or Engineer with at least 2 years of ambient air quality and/or meteorological monitoring experience to join our Anchorage, Alaska Air Measurements team. Preferable candidates will demonstrate a strong, relevant academic and employment background and a passion for environmental air work. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Meteorology, Environmental Science, or equivalent educational background
At least 2 years of relevant experience in stationary source emission, ambient air, or meteorological monitoring
Ability to test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical systems
Strong organizational, analytical, technical writing, and data management skills
Proven ability to work on several projects simultaneously, and within established timelines and budgets
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
Excellent analytical, organizational, and multitasking skills
Valid driver’s license
Willing to travel by airplane and car, including overnight travel
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in Engineering, Meteorology, or equivalent educational background
Knowledge of EPA air monitoring regulations and methods
Knowledge of EPA source testing methodology and regulations
Experience with Campbell Scientific dataloggers, ambient air monitoring systems, or CEMS
Knowledge of data acquisition systems, remote wireless telemetry, and air monitoring systems
Experience reviewing and interpreting regulatory requirements
Experience coordinating and shipping hazardous substances

Key Responsibilities
Involvement in all aspects of source emissions testing and remote monitoring projects including monitoring system design, remote power and communications systems, remote site access logistics, troubleshooting station equipment, data validation and reporting, and preparation of program specific monitoring QA Plans
Frequent field trips to complete installation, calibration, repair, and maintenance work at ambient air and meteorological monitoring stations
Coordinating travel, shipping, and other logistical obstacles in a timely manner with inhouse personnel and client liaisons
Developing monitoring quality assurance and health and safety plans
Reporting source testing, ambient air quality, and meteorological data
Routine data analysis
Reporting
Project management assistance
Participation in health and safety program
