Our fields of expertise span all areas of civil engineering and include an extensive variety of specialty disciplines, such as environmental compliance and restoration, coastal engineering, urban development, and mining. DESCRIPTION Michael Baker is seeking to add a Project Manager to join our growing Civil Engineering team in Alexandria, Virginia. Our team guides clients through the entire life cycle of a project including site planning, design development, permitting, preparing construction documents, and construction services. Our Civil Engineering team works on a wide range of government and public infrastructure projects, including pedestrian trails, park retrofits, facility site design, site assessments, stormwater management and BMP design and inspections, erosion stabilization design and inspections, utility system improvements, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, and more. The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience in the successful completion of these types of projects, as well as strong project management skills. Below are critical qualifications and skills expected of a successful Project Manager: Ability to collaborate and think creatively. Ability to manage project teams and subcontractors. Establish clear lines of communications with project team and with client. Demonstrate ability to properly address and manage change. RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities of the Project Manager will include: Collaborate with a large team of multi-disciplinary engineers, architects, landscape architects, planners, and other professionals. Conduct technical evaluations to support planning and design related to civil engineering projects. Prepare design calculations, drawings, and specifications for civil engineering projects. Lead project delivery, including being responsible for technical design, project financial performance, scope and schedule management, and quality control. Interact with internal and external clients to ensure project delivery and client satisfaction. Support business development including developing scope and price proposals. PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering. 7+ years of related experience. PE in Virginia is required. Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D and other civil engineering software. Experience with Virginia and regional clients a plus. COMPENSATION The salary range for this position is $82,804-$172,523. This will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate. |
