Job Description : OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
Reporting to the Sr. Director of Platform Product Development, you will be an important member of the Platform Product Development (PPD) leadership team and you will manage the people, resources, processes, and tools of the Project Engineering (PE) team. You will lead the PE team to drive best in class technical project execution and you will drive continuous process improvement to improve on-time delivery, speed to market, and project management excellence. You will also work with Product Line Directors to ensure projects are properly resourced and delivering on the toll gate process from brief creation to mass production.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead, coach and develop the Project Engineering team in all aspects of developing the best products and delivering on-time projects including:
Developing and maintaining project master schedules
Mastery of product development process/framework
Stakeholder management and communication across global cross functional teams
Risk management
Technical acumen to lead trade-off and prioritization decisions
Work with your direct reports to set and review performance/development goals, discuss feedback regularly throughout the year, and formally summarize during performance reviews
Regularly role model BOA’s values to your team and others
Regularly review staff outputs to ensure quality and alignment with BOA processes
Maintain relevant Project Engineering processes and tools through BOA’s Quality Management System and internal document storage
Champion continuous improvement of core Project Engineering processes to drive efficiency and speed to market
Oversee data review and analysis of team members to ensure accuracy and quality
Provide project support as needed to achieve on-time delivery and quality of projects
Cleary communicate with diverse groups of people on a variety of topics such as technical processes, team needs, and project status
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar engineering discipline
10+ years of experience in project engineering, design engineering or product development, including 6+ years of experience leading product development projects
Demonstrated leadership skills and experience leading a team
Experience evaluating and providing guidance on the work of other Project Engineers
Experience leading projects through a product development process using technical project management skills
Advanced skills in global cross functional collaboration, stakeholder communication across levels, process improvement and problem solving
Experience working with overseas contract manufacturers
Ability to collaborate and build relationships with diverse groups of people across the globe
Ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to 10%
Ability to occasionally take phone calls and emails during non-traditional hours and over weekends, due to work with global teams
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
PMP Certification
Experience with plastic and injection molding
Experience with PE tools such as MS Project, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), CAD Drawing/3D CAD (we use Solidworks)
OVERVIEW OF COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Budgeted salary range: $100,000-$115,000
We will determine salary based on skills and experience in relation to the function of the role, as well as equity to any other employees with similar experience in the same or similar role
This role is also eligible for a 12.5% annual bonus
