Headquartered in San Juan Capistrano, California, we are looking to grow our team by expanding our product development capabilities.An exciting opportunity: DermLite is seeking a Product Engineer to join our diverse team of 25. Working in a hybrid environment with our product development team, you will refine current devices and design new accessories or devices within our core dermatology market and beyond. Working on-site from San Juan Capistrano, CA you will troubleshoot and resolve design and manufacturing issues and implement new methods and solutions to improve existing product quality. This is an exciting role for someone who thrives on opportunities to learn and grow as part of our rapidly expanding team developing cutting-edge medical technology.Initiatives you will champion: Employ your creativity, mechanical aptitude, and ideation to influence new product development.Use your in-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and assembly techniques to design components and assemblies that are manufactured with high yields and assembled with ease.Fully document designs, ranging from creating individual component drawings that are properly dimensioned and toleranced, to developing detailed assembly instructions.Work with suppliers to build prototypes and production quantities, and research, screen and recommend potential suppliers as needed.Assist with the determination of design inputs, design plans, risk analyses, verification testing, validations for our products.Review complaints and customer feedback, and using your excellent analytical skills to design, document, and communicate corrective action.Perform root cause analysis and implement design changes and corrective action procedures.Set relevant product and component inspection criteria and design fixtures or tests to measure these criteria.Set up and conduct tests to verify components, products, processes, and designs.Develop fixtures and tools required for new productsHandle and prioritize a multitude of diverse, demanding, and complex assignments in parallel, and use your time management, organization and communication skills to help company management keep projects on schedule.Bonus points for any of the following: Experience developing medical devices;Expertise in FDA regulations, ISO 13485, Lean manufacturing;Knowledge of electrical engineering: ability to read schematics and PCB layouts, choose appropriate key electrical components;Optical and illumination fundamentals or design skills;In depth knowledge of materials, cosmetic finishes and coatings for metals and plastics;Ability to setup and run a laser cutter or cnc machine.Requirements to apply: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, or equivalent combination of training and experience (1-4 years);Proficient with Solidworks or equivalent (ability to use surfacing features highly desirable);Ability to work at least part-time from our main office in San Juan Capistrano, CATo learn more about us, please visit us at: https://dermlite.com/We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity in our company.
