| Job Description : | Description Job Description: Leidos has an opening for a Principal Quality Engineer in Sandusky, Ohio. The Quality Engineer will perform quality engineering activities in support of the Glenn Research Center (GRC) test operations in Sandusky, Ohio. GRC test facilities contain complex process and mechanical systems with varying degrees of hazards. The quality engineer will act as a resource to test facility operations and work closely with facility engineers and test system operators. He or she must have broad industrial and quality assurance and project management experience. The ability to analyze complex systems and operational procedures to identify potential hazardous scenarios is required. Must be willing and able to communicate issues and concerns to technical teams and management. Provide a subject matter level of quality assurance engineering expertise to NASA testing Facilities. Provide NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC) institutional assets at ATF with hardware QA oversight, recommended practices, and suggestions to improve inspections of both hardware and documents. Provide projects with training and facilitation in formal inspection, hardware safety, plus hardware assurance support. Review project quality assurance plans for adequacy and provide recommendations on how to implement and execute a successful assurance program in accordance with NASA Quality Standards. Provide assistance to witnessing hardware tests, verifying compliance with requirements. Conduct Process Audits. Coordinate and collaborate with other mission assurance disciplines and the safety organization to assure requisite support and expertise is provided when needed. Required Skills: Bachelor’s degree and minimum 12 years of experience in an engineering design or testing and/or quality assurance, inspection role. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree. Familiarity with aerospace quality systems and the interaction of processes. Experience and/or knowledge in NASA processes and standards. Excellent technical writing skills and understanding of Quality Assurance and Safety processes. Project management skills are highly desired. Ability to effectively communicate with all organizational levels. AS9100 quality systems auditing experience. Must be able to pass a Public Trust background investigation. Must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident due to length investigation for non-U.S. persons. Pay Range: |
