This is a full time/union position and will require the successful candidate to join the Operating Engineers Union Local 302. The position offers great benefits including health insurance, dental and vision, retirement saving benefits, vacation days and much more.The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for performing and/or overseeing preventive maintenance on equipment. Completion of daily of Preventative Maintenance (PM) work orders, scheduled repair work orders, and unscheduled emergency repairs, and project work associated with the operation of a production and warehouse facility.This position requires the following:Ability to plan, organize and coordinate daily activitiesAbility to maximize productivity and minimize wasteWillingness to work in a safe manner and promote a safe working environmentAbility to communicate effectively with peers and supervisors in both oral and written formRoles and responsibilities will include the following at a minimum:Perform all needed maintenance functions in support of Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) initiative and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) programs.Accurately complete work order documents and summary reportsPerform emergency repairs as neededPerform preventative maintenance task as scheduledParticipate in continuous improvement processMaintain organization and cleanliness of maintenance and product support areasFollow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for maintenance processesPerform data entry and execute transactions using Safeway computer applicationsComply with government regulationsRecognize both internal and external customers and manage relationshipsWork safely following all documented state and federal safety requirements.Participate in the development and maintenance of a world class manufacturing environmentEnsure that equipment is maintained at a level to produce Maximum production at the lowest cost, the highest quality, and utilizing optimum safety standards.Resolve equipment malfunctions by evaluating performance breakdowns, identifying the root cause and taking corrective action.Ensure compliance with GMPs and safety policies while planning and completing projects.Perform other duties as assignedA Maintenance Technician may perform maintenance functions in any or all of the following areas:HTST/Mix OperationsFlavor/Mix OperationsFiller /Freezer OperationsWrapper OperationsConvocan OperationsHardening Room/Palletizer Room/Forklift OperationsBoiler OperationsAmmonia /Compressor OperationsGeneral UtilitySpecific Skills Required for the Position (unless otherwise noted):Computer skills (basic computer knowledge)Working knowledge of PLC controls (helpful, but not required)Knowledge of electrical systems including 110-480V systems, AC & DC control systems, installing, troubleshooting and repairWorking knowledge of hydraulic, plumbing and pneumatic systemsKnowledge of refrigeration systems, with ammonia (preferred by not required)Welding-TIG, MIG, Stick, etc. Stainless / Sanitary equipment experience (helpful but not required)Ability to read and understand blueprintsLicensing and regulatory compliance in accordance with Washington State LawForklift and pallet-jack certification (helpful, but not required)Knowledge of plant mechanical processes sufficient to analyze performance trends and recommend and initiate corrective actions to improve process performanceEffective oral and written communicationWillingness to learn multiple tasks and work in a cross-functional environmentBe a teamplayer in a teamwork environmentPhysical Demands of the Position:Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. above the waist 10 times per daySignificant bending and stoopingExposure to heights (may be elevated 40ft. on lift equipment)Willingness to work extended or any scheduled work hoursPhysical Work Environment May Include the Following:Exposure to extreme temperature changes (hot and cold)Exposure to loud noises, allergens and moving mechanical partsExposure to Hazardous chemicalsJob Type: Full-timePay: $31.50 – $35.00 per hourBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee discountHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftWeekend availabilityEducation:High school or equivalent (Preferred)Experience:Maintenance Engineering: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: One location |
