Job Description : PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Plant Maintenance Engineer is responsible for defining, developing and managing methods and processes for system engineering library of systems, components, equipment for operations and maintenance. This individual acquires and analyzes data to update and manage system library and make recommendations for improvement. The position serves a leadership role in conducting field survey and data collection/analysis, determining and implementing plant solutions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Works in close collaboration with business and clinical operations to perform detailed studies, which include details cost and business impact assessments.
Originates and develops methods for the implementation and trains others. Determines what changes to use to maximize operations and maintenance.
Monitors document systems, components, equipment and resources to determine highest levels of reliability in order to minimize business impact (patient care delivery, business operations, research or academic activities.)
Develops, implements and manages methods for determining and optimizing plant documentation of the of campus (Hospital and University) facilities assets in order to satisfy the goals of:
Achieving high levels of reliability for critical campus building infrastructure
Maximizing the useful life of Jefferson’s building assets
Minimizing the near term operational and life-cycle costs of building and building system ownership
Supporting and ensuring regulatory complianceAnalyzes operational data to proactively trend asset performance
Oversight of the facility condition assessment program and capital planning.
Optimizing predictive maintenance and building inspection programs
Identifying and troubleshooting reliability issues
Optimizing Jefferson’s building maintenance programs
The Engineer will document meaningful results by working with both the maintenance group to modernize maintenance standards, incorporate predictive maintenance techniques and ensure correct implementation of new maintenance techniques as well as with the project group to help define standards for new installations, engaged in project commissioning and turnover documentation.
Works directly with Management Staff to identify, improve and communicate levels of performance, reliability/energy conservation, productivity, effectiveness and customer satisfaction as they contribute to or support Organizational goals. Leads continuous improvement efforts
Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the iSCORE values of Jefferson.

EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or architectural is required.
Professional association with ASHE, APPA or similar industry based organization preferred with associated certifications. Professional Engineer (PE) or masters is preferred. _________________________________________________________________________
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION:

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
3-5+ years of intern experience in a medium to highly regulated or technical field.
3-5+ years of experience with computer aided design

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Formal Computer skills and/or work Solid knowledge of Facilities Management field or similar required Demonstrated proficiency in database programs or similar (Excel, Access, etc) as well as MS Office tools.
Able to demonstrate high level of computer systems skills
Excellent computer skills including both Apple and Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Cad, and I-pad applications. Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal communications (speaking, written and electronic). Able to provide support for 24/7 operations shift coverage and/or technical guidance for unplanned incidents and outages, as required.
