Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience working with Python, Go, C++, or a similar software language.
Preferred qualifications:
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience with optical transport systems (e.g., metro and long-haul dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) systems).
Experience developing software for managing networks.

Responsibilities
Develop network architectures and define requirements for scaling the transport network in a cost-efficient and operationally streamlined manner.
Investigate long-term technology trends and work with the vendor ecosystem to nurture innovations and create a path for implementation in Google’s network.
Work with external optical component, subsystem and system vendors, and qualify promising technologies for deployment in Google’s Global Network.
Develop tools, processes, and workflows for automation of configuration, operations, troubleshooting, and network health reporting.
