Radom’s technology targets multiple challenges in various industries, including scientific, semiconductors, environmental, agricultural, energy, and aerospace.OVERVIEW Radom Corporation is searching for a creative and experienced Mechanical Engineering Technician with strong practical and technical skills to join our in-house design team. Ideal candidate for this position is someone who enjoys the challenge of taking an idea from concept to prototype through creativity and individual effort. The key responsibility will be to assist the R&D team in all mechanical aspects of prototype construction, evaluation, and modifications. Assignments may include: building feasibility and prototype models under the guidance of engineers and scientists, assembling and testing mechanical assemblies and fixtures, creating machined parts, etc.Responsibilities Work closely with scientists and engineers to understand various functional, structural and electrical requirements of the proposed fixtures, prototypes and experiments.Construct fixtures and prototypes using a variety of machine shop tools, including a CNC machine.Solve prototyping problems such as meeting stringent precision and alignment requirements, dealing with different materials and specialized tools, and using various joining methods such as fasteners, brazing and welding.Assist in the conduct of prototype measurements, evaluations, and experiments.Assist in the procurement of machine shop supplies, shop organization, and maintenance.Provide strong individual contributions in the context of achieving team goals.May travel to customer or supplier sites as neededQualifications and Education Requirements Associates degree, or a High School diploma and 5+ years technical experienceBasic understanding of mechanical assemblies and CAD.Excellent problem-solving skills for complex electromechanical systems.Demonstrated proficiency to utilize and modify computerized work systems.Advanced usage of tools shop equipment such as the milling machine and the lathe.Adept at using CAM and CAD CNC tools.Good verbal and written communication skills.Desirable Previous experience working with R&D teamsPrevious experience working with complex electro-mechanical systemsAbility to prepare parts for CNC machining and use 3 axis CNC (Tormach)Job Type: Full-timePay: $40,000.00 – $60,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee assistance programEmployee discountFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offProfessional development assistanceTuition reimbursementVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftSupplemental Pay:Bonus payCOVID-19 considerations:We follow all CDC and State of Wisconsin guidelines.Application Question(s):Do you have basic understanding of mechanical assemblies and CAD?Are you adept at using CAM and CAD CNC tools?Do you have advanced knowledge in the usage of tools shop equipment such as the milling machine and the lathe?Education:Associate (Preferred)Work Location: One location |
