The Merritt & Harris Group of Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer (ME)/Senior Construction Project Manager (SPM) to join our dynamic team. The individual can work remotely for the most part.

Job Description:
The Mechanical Engineer will review Mechanical design plans, specs and related construction documents to determine the adequacy and appropriateness of the proposed MEP and Sustainability systems, and write a descriptive report. The work will involve a variety of project types and building sizes. The reviewer will determine the following for each project:
Quality of mechanical design and construction documents for a wide range of building types
General compliance with mechanical sections of national building codes
Adequacy and appropriateness of the design and the quality of the equipment specified

The Mechanical Engineer will be called to observe the MEP systems and elements of existing buildings and to assist in the preparation of Property Condition Assessment (PCA) reports.
As a Senior Project Manager, the individual will perform Construction Monitoring assignments. Construction projects are monitored for quality, compliance with plans, adherence to schedule, and accuracy of requisition draw requests. The SPM will interface directly with our clients & prepare reports.
The SPM will be one of a number of professionals on the Merritt & Harris team to work on a project. The successful candidate must be personable, a very strong communicator, and team player. Additionally, they must have a strong work ethic, and a good (and appropriate) sense of humor to help them navigate the challenges surrounding a project while keeping morale high. We look for individuals who can work through difficult conversations and have all parties feeling motivated afterwards about an appropriate course of action.
Requirements

Education and Experience:
Professional license (RA/PE) or a degree in architecture, engineering or construction technology
Minimum 5-10 years of construction field work experience

Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge of plans, requisitions, contracts, budgets, change orders and schedules
Excellent oral and written skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
A driver’s license and the ability to do some overnight travel
