Today’s manufacturing environments demand product quality, process control and repeatability; we offer a wide variety of industrial equipment and process control instrumentation to help our customers achieve those high standards. Typical markets that we serve include: printing and converting, medical device assembly, electronics assembly, plastics coating and decorating, automotive plastics, film extrusion, coating of wood and laminate flooring, glass decorating, composite construction, and many more.As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be a core member of our growing Engineering team, which provides custom engineering and integration services to customers seeking to improve their manufacturing processes or create new ones. INPRO is actively expanding its custom engineering and integration services to better support our customers as a means of achieving the growth and profitability goals for INPRO Technologies, Inc. This position will work in our new office in Frederick, MD with the potential for up to 10% travel to customer sites for survey and on-site installation.Responsibilities and Duties: Conduct lab testing to validate applications and approachesDesign integrated UV curing, surface treating, static control, and process monitoring systems with a focus on manufacturability, reliability, maintainability, flexibility, cost/schedule awareness, automation, and process controlSupport complete project lifecycle execution for the design and delivery of robust electromechanical systems for the industrial manufacturing sectorCreate necessary supporting documentation, including fabrication and assembly drawings, instructions, manuals, and system block diagramsFabricate and assemble systems using in-house light-duty fabrication and assembly toolingPerform complete system integration, including robotic integration and programming, conveyor system design and assembly, chamber system design and assembly, and moreEvaluate, diagnose, and repair system componentsPerform inspection of received material and fabricated parts, document inspection results in non-conformance reports, and provide recommended engineering dispositions as appropriateThink creatively and collaborate effectively with team members to develop elegant solutions to difficult problemsPresent solutions concisely and thoughtfully to team members and customersInterface directly with customers to understand, develop, and document requirementsDevelop new product concepts, including prototyping as appropriate, and detailed designs based on insights from Sales teamGenerate and document new and improvements to existing Engineering and Operations processesKeep management apprised of project status through the use of concise communication and continuous documentation in task management tools, such as JIRAOther duties as assignedQualifications: BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related fieldExperience in the field of mechanical engineering and electro-mechanical designAbility to communicate technical concepts to non-technical team membersCompetencies in fabrication and assembly methods as well as the use of hand tools and power toolsProficiency in computer aided design (CAD) using parametric modeling software, preferably SolidWorks (CSWP certification a plus)Possess a strong, independent work ethic with the natural tendency to encourage and elevate team members in the processExperience drafting mechanical drawings for fabrication and assemblyLicense to lawfully operate a motor vehicle in the US and good driving recordWillingness to travel up to 10% of the timePhysical ability to lift heavy objects ( >50 lb)Preferred Qualifications: Professional experience in engineering and design of industrial equipment and machineryStrong understanding of industrial mechanics and automation systemsExcellent knowledge of materials and design for manufacturabilityFoundational knowledge of programming, preferably with experience in robotic programmingExperience with configuration management practices and product data management software, such as SolidWorks PDMExperience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)The ideal candidate will: Have high energy and a positive attitudeBe excited to perform as part of a larger teamHold strong organizational skills and be a self-starter who can work with minimal directionBe willing and able manage a wide variety of responsibilities in different areas of the businessPossess strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability create effective presentationsWork comfortably in an office and R&D lab environment as well as occasional visits to customer production facilitiesHave high level of interest in mechanical systems, robotics, and automationDemonstrate a proactive and persistent, but tactful natureBe innately motivated by curiosity and the desire to serve othersRespect the thoughts and ideas of others and provide useful, constructive ideas for improvementWe offer a variety of benefits, programs, and services to our employees, including: Base SalaryPerformance Bonus ProgramMedical Insurance Plan with company paid premiums (partial)Health Savings Account (HSA) with company contributionsPaid vacation time11 paid HolidaysCasual dress codeHigh-energy work environmentJob Type: Full-timeBenefits:Health insuranceHealth savings accountPaid time offSchedule:Monday to FridayApplication Question(s):If you do not have a year of mechanical engineering experience, have you had a least 1 internship in this field?Education:Bachelor’s (Preferred)Work Location: One location |
