This position requires clear and concise communication skills in order to work closely as a team with both structural engineers and machine-design mechanical engineers solving complex problems and rigorous high-fidelity finite element activities.Celtic Engineering, Inc is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to execute and oversee detailed analysis and design of mechanical components and systems associated with mechanisms and structures. In this role, you will assist Sr Project Managers and Upper Management with developing and executing work plans, developing of engineering proposals, tracking status your budget, tracking status of project tasks, and organizing the project team and technical work flow. You will provide support for various entertainment & ride manufacturing industry clients and aerospace industry clients to solve complex engineering problems. A successful candidate for this position will: proactively plan and execute work with increasing levels of engineering responsibility (often serving as EOR and PM for the project), demonstrate engineering creativity to solve problems and remain on budget and on schedule, demonstrate flexibility/adaptability in project workflow & staffing planning to support the project and client needs while maintaining budget and schedule, adapt to changes in budget and schedule, and possess advanced oral & written communication skills. This position expects the engineer to work independently on tasks for which they are proficient, to further develop engineering and staff leadership skills, and to proactively communicate with staff and management. This position expects the engineer to work with some to minimal oversight on tasks for which they are knowledgeable. If not already achieved, a successful ME3 will aggressively pursue passing of FE exam and professional licensure.Requirements: You should have at least a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, 8+ years’ experience minimum (10+ years preferred) with increasing levels of engineering responsibility in mechanical engineering design, analysis, HA/FMEA, & drawing production, and 3+ years’ experience preferred in a project management or project lead role.Proficiency required in engineering analysis and design of mechanisms and static mechanical structures, static FEA (Ansys preferred), working with 3D modeling and design in a major CAD system such as Solid Works and/or Creo, organizing and chairing meetings, and client/customer interaction.Knowledgeable of trade studies, benefits and drawbacks of different systems, model & drawing production, model & drawing management & organization & layout in a CAD and PDM package, welding & weld engineering, GD&T, sizing and specifying actuation systems & bearing systems. Professional engineering licensure is a major plus and expected of the position within 2 years of hire date with ability to obtain licensure in other states.
