| Job Description : | Master Engineering TechnologistJW Aluminum is in search of a dependable, detail-oriented engineering technologist for the Equipment Engineering group The engineering technologist’s responsibilities include using several software tools to install and service networking for process equipment, accessing company databases, use Excel/SQL to format companywide reports, help to design and maintain IOT process networks from layer 1 to layer 3 (Purdue Model), provide training for databases, and seek out information to optimize machine centers. Technologist will need to perform these duties while observing company safety guidelines, documenting each project, and updating machine improvements, providing material cost and time estimates, and training apprentices.Essential Functions, Duties and ResponsibilitiesParticipate in training or continuing education activities to stay abreast of engineering or industry advances in networking, network security, PLC communications, and high-speed databases.Assist engineers, maintenance, and operations, in conducting network assessments for electrical engineering upgrades.Diagnose, test, or analyze the performance of Industrial Managed switches, Security Appliance on networks, NAT’ed systems, and understand the ability to remote access for JWA teammates and Vendors.Partner with the JWA IT team to ensure that the end-to-end process environment is secure and accessible only to those who require access.Set up and operate standard or specialized testing equipment.Review electrical engineering plans to ensure adherence to design specifications and compliance with applicable electrical codes and standards.Install or maintain electrical control networks, industrial automation systems, networked programmable logic controllers.Design or modify engineering schematics using computer-aided design (CAD) software as needed.Evaluate electrical engineering plans to determine whether they comply with applicable network technology, network security, and environmental standards.With provided training, be able to access the process databases and develop reportsWith provided instruction, be able to perform analysis of machine performance.Train process/maintenance engineers and techs how to access and basic utilization of software tools for process network dataUnderstand or learn networking Principles of networking, Siemens PLC, Rockwell PLC, and AC and DC drivesUnderstand and learn the principles of IBA and WonderwareCollaborate, advise, or personally manage drawing updates, preventative maintenance measures, and explain these to other electricians.Participate in JSA reviews, LOTO, SW, and Control Plans.Test and troubleshoot networked systems.Collaborate with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to guide in the installation of industrial networks.Read schematics, use diagnostic tools, interface with outside vendors, collaborate with external and internal engineers/operations/maintenance, manage contractors on a limited basis, and work through others to accomplish specific tasksRequirements3-5 years of experience as an Electrician.At least 2 years of experience working with networking.Excellent written, verbal, communication.Firm grasp of health and safety codes.Patience when teaching.Demonstrated commitment to zero incident safety culture, teammate engagement, active teamwork, continuous improvement while practicing JW’s Target BehaviorsJob Type: Full-timePay: $32.00 – $36.00 per hourBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee assistance programEmployee discountFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offProfessional development assistanceReferral programTuition reimbursementVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridaySupplemental Pay:Bonus payExperience:Industrial electrician: 3 years (Required)networking: 2 years (Required)License/Certification:Driver’s License (Preferred)Work Location: One location |
