Primary Location: United States (US) – Illinois – East Moline Function: Manufacturing Engineering Title: Manufacturing Engineering OFP Weld – 83462 Onsite/Remote: Onsite Position This posting will be used to fill two openings. This is a variable shift position. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change. Your Responsibilities As a variable shift OFP Weld Manufacturing Engineer for John Deere Harvester Works located in East Moline, Illinois, you will…. Investigate, gather, and analyze data for identifying root cause for welding issues in the departments supported. Establish routings, pay standards, layouts, weld tooling, weldments costs, OMS, and control plans for revisions to current operations and/or running changes for current product. Identify and implement cost reduction, quality, safety, and ergonomic improvement ideas for welding operations Work with PDM, SAP, Wplanner/MPP, and Creo to perform engineering functions. Design cell layouts to improve material flow and material presentation Participate in annual factory capacity planning and productivity activities for departments. Ability to work off shift, overtime, and Saturdays, as needed. Visa sponsorship is NOT available for this position. What Skills You Need Experience programming and troubleshooting robotic welding applications in a manufacturing environment (i.e., Fanuc systems) Knowledge of manufacturing weld processes, quality, tooling, tool design, total preventative maintenance, and facilities Experience in project management and business planning Ability to effectively interact and communicate with wage employees, Supervisors, Managers, and other Engineers Self- motivated with the ability to execute a variety of tasks with little supervision Experience using computer aided design and/or engineering tools (i.e., ProE, AutoCAD, VisMockup, WeldPRO, etc.) Willingness and ability to work variable shift, off shift, overtime and/or Saturdays as needed What Makes You Stand Out Experience with MPPlanner for SOE and OMS development. Experience with line design, material presentation, cycles of imbalance and visual management tools such as simulations and 3D factory. Experience working with incentive pay systems, especially gainsharing programs such as CIPP (Continuous Improvement Pay Plan) Knowledge of JDAAT – MES systems and associated systems utilized for its implementation/maintenance Education Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following: Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or Technology discipline What You’ll Get At John Deere, you are empowered to create a career that will take you to where you want to go.
