Within Optical Networks Business Division, 1830 SWDM Transmission System is a state-of-the-art product that is the core platform for Nokia IP Transport. This system provides leading-edge optical transmission capabilities at industry-leading data rates (600GB/s and beyond), optical reach and bandwidth density, and a broad range of service capabilities including Ethernet, SONET, and SDH. The 1830 PSS product line developed by the Murray Hill R&D team is a Metro, regional-reach, Submarine, Data Center Interconnect and Open Line System DWDM platform which is deployed by over 1000 customers worldwide.

What you will learn and contribute to

As a verification engineer, you support various aspects of testing for the 1830 family of products specifically the validation of high-capacity network transport security and encryption features, high speed optical transponders, network element infrastructure and cyber security as well as firmware management and software control of optical transmission.

Are you passionate about solving problems?
As part of our team, you will:

Validate new features designed for deployment with telco and webscale providers
Develop test automation scripts for these features
Execute regression testing
Work with system architects, software and hardware engineers to ensure test coverage, report and resolve bugs, and ensure best in class product quality
Your skills and experience

You have:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
Test Automation skills, preferably Python
Strong motivation and desire to learn in a fast-paced high technology environment
Strong academic background in communication and network systems.

It would be nice if you also had:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; Demonstrated ability to successfully work in a team oriented environment.
Master’s degree in a related field such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science
Familiarity with optical transmission systems, including WDM, SONET, and OTN.
