The Incident Risk Prevention (IRP) Quality Engineer will develop Quality inspection programs for SAS Mechanical Distribution Systems (piping and tanks) for predicting reliability, address risks by planning repairs or replacements and subsequently preventing QHSE incidents with a focused Risk Based Inspection approach and NDT methods. The position will include validating and reporting results as well as recommending actions to mitigate risk on a robust IRP team. The IRP Quality Engineer will be responsible for administering and advising management on incident risk prevention with respect to non-destructive testing.
Role and Responsibilities
The IRP Quality Engineer will provide necessary technical expertise and recommendations to develop and maintain a top tier Risk Based Inspection (RBI) based on industry standards with heavy emphasis on NDT methodologies to evaluate and report the health of the Infra Technology mechanical systems.
This role will include close coordination with onsite technician and engineering teams to evaluate risk and give sound recommendations for equipment repair and replacement.
The duties are and not limited to:
Develop and manage program documents and Engineering Specifications for IRP-NDT processes.
Utilize Quality concepts to continuously enhance the program effectiveness through dynamic sampling and audits.
Improve system reliability by conducting detailed failure analysis using 8D method on material defects and incidents.
Analyze systems’ criticality by using Risk Mapping and RBI Analysis and predict systems’ reliability through Piping Corrosion Rate Calculations and System Health Index with emphasis on Failure Rate, Inspection frequency, material selection, connection type, etc.
Support System owning teams on performing Life Based Maintenance for critical mechanical systems.
Develop and manage RBI and NDT inspection schedules for all piping and tanks and regularly communicate the requirements to the system owning teams for effective program management.
