Overview:

The Industrial Engineering – BIW, Paint, General Assembly and Battery Module position is charged with facilitating the production goals of the LV and MPDV Vehicle Programs for process safety, quality, timing, costs, efficiency (HPV, eHPV). The Industrial Engineer is the architect of the shop methods and processes, and the representative of Manufacturing in Canoo Program LV and MPDV. The Industrial Engineer must ensure the feasibility of the products, prove and guarantee the buildability of the products, in the trail builds, and series production, for launch through to the long-term capacity of the system. The Industrial Engineer supports the MPPL, as they create the methods, processes, and capacities of the total production process. Systems, products, and processes must be handed over to the US site plants to the schedule.
Responsibilities:
Target-oriented planning, implementation, introduction of production processes and production initiatives.
Ensuring target achievement for production-relevant goals (deadlines, costs, quantities, process reliability, HPV, eHPV, quality and content).
Planning, monitoring, controlling and ensuring the execution of work packages in terms of performance, capacities, costs, deadlines and quality.
Development of a project structure and process plan (work packages, deadlines, etc.) together with the Manufacturing Engineering team, as well as agreement of targets within the project organization.
Analysis of the target and actual data during the course of the project and identification of needs for action, and proposed solutions to reach the targets.
Introduction of production concerns into the project or other functional areas in the project (development support and other areas).
Commissioning of functional groups to investigate production alternatives.
Coordination of issues with the US site plants.
Representation of the product project with regard to production in the relevant committees and with contracted resources for methods, processing, work-instructions, line and equipment builds, installation, commissioning, and launches.
As a member of committees representing production interests.
Regular information to the Program teams, the Facilities teams, and the Operating groups (US site) regarding the current status of the project work.
Adherence to the defined HPV and eHPV targets/budget within the program LV and MPDV management tasks.
Help create and implementing project and product goals by means of target agreements with the technical and facilities teams.
Initiating personal development and qualification together with the other Manufacturing leads.
Define the work objectives and review the work results. Ensure development and qualification of employees regarding production and project work. Professional management of the production contact persons from the departments (including development).
The Manufacturing Engineer must ensure:
Operations can achieve the production targets, by driving the functionality, safety, quality, and efficiency of the process(es).
Compliance with the conditions of all responsible systems (process safety, quality, quantities, HPV, eHPV, cost, and morale).
The manufacturability of the process and products.
The manufacturability of the products in series systems and the short and long-term ability to match target to actual.
The manufacturability of the processes in trial and series systems, and the short and long-term ability to match target to actual.
Assure the achievement of project financial and operating forecasts and targets.
Gather, analyze and communicate relevant information so that effective decisions can be made regarding applicable product or process issues.
Support product launches, with supplemental problem-solving capabilities and feedback through to Engineering, Support Departments, and Chief Engineer functions.
Coordinate and help train Plant – Manufacturing Engineering, team lead and associates ad hoc team prior to launch(es), to achieve group objectives and maximize product, process, equipment, and methods readiness.
Primary communication link between the Chief Engineer team, MPPL and the Manufacturing team.
Liaison between line, equipment, and process components suppliers, Purchasing, and MPPL team, to track and assure target achievement.
Qualifications:

Industrial Engineering Capabilities- BIW, Paint, General Assembly and Battery Module technologies
General Education/Experience:
Minimum – BS degree in Industrial Engineering with a minor in mchanical and/or electrical Engineering
Minimum – 5 year experience with a an Auto OEM/Teir 1 supplier with at least one of core BIW, Paint, General and Battery Module technology.
A leader but work well in team, good communication skill, respectful of other, and is guided by safety first.
Specific Experience – Industrial Engineer with experience with one or more BIW, Paint, General Assembly and Battery Module Assembly Technologies
Industrial Engineer:
Industrial engineering, man and machine layout, time studying/simulation software’s, through put studies and simulation software, ergonomics, ergonomic simulation software, robotic/simulations, Siemen’s control systems, Manufacturing Execution Systems, Catia, AutoCAD, Team Center, process sheets/work instructions, and other related technologies.
Physical Requirements for Physical Positions
While performing the duties of this job, employees may be required to lift up-to 25 or more pounds, stand, sit, bend/stoop, or operate office equipment or machinery.
