Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related engineering field degree or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of relevant work experience in global supply chain management within consumer electronics.
Ability to travel as needed.
Preferred qualifications:
10 years of relevant work experience in global supply chain management within consumer electronics.
Experience with commodities such as displays and touch.
Experience partnering, collaborating, and working cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, and Supplier teams.
Experience managing overall ramp readiness with Engineering, Operations, and Supplier teams.
Knowledge of manufacturing and supply chain processes.
Negotiation, communication, sourcing, consultation, and collaboration skills.

As a Commodity Manager, you use your wide industry knowledge and strategic supplier relationships to optimize our total cost of ownership for our global – and growing – infrastructure. The scale at which Google operates means that savings on just one piece of hardware can have a huge impact on Google’s bottom line.
As a Global Supply Chain Manager for Display and Touch on Consumer Hardware, you’ll work on the custom supply chain for consumer devices. You’ll execute the team’s material acquisition strategy and work closely with Engineering teams to ensure material and part availability.

Responsibilities
Manage supplier roadmap, lead program RFI/RFQ negotiations, supplier selection process, and contract negotiations.
Participate and influence supplier and sourcing strategy and execution.
Lead the communication with the cross-functional team and suppliers to resolve all issues that arise from the development and ramp stages. Serve as the escalation point.
Manage suppliers to ensure material availability and readiness for the development builds and mass production.
