Job Description : The General Manager will lead two plant teams (one union and one non-union plant) by driving profitability, service, performance, and operational excellence through coaching and training. The General Manager will manage and lead overall plant operations ensuring the achievement of plant targets for Safety, Quality, Service, and Cost. This will be executed by providing strong leadership to the plant team and managing the systems, equipment, people, and materials according to the established policies, procedures, specifications, and customer requirements. Must be an accomplished Change Agent and Leader, and an Excellent Communicator with vision and focus positioned for growth.Responsibilities: Determine business strategy through collaboration with the Region, Corporate and local resources, focusing on revenue growth targets through volume, product mix, pricing, and new product roll-outsCascade determined business strategies within the business/division, including the development of quantifiable goals and objectives for business/division staff and active daily management to ensure goal execution and accountabilityOwner of P&Ls across multiple businesses, making trade-off decisions as appropriateMakes and/or approves major operating, business, engineering, and operational decisions, as required, to ensure that plant is operating optimally.Ensure that strategic operational/business plans are developed and implemented within the plant, and analyze and report, on the achievements and/or gaps.Generate new ideas for continuous business improvement and be an active leaderPartner with Plant Managers to ensure operating efficiencies support determined strategiesDefine, diagnose and resolve issues based on analytics and fact-based rationaleEffectively model and lead change initiatives throughout the business/division including a cascade of Region/Corporate initiatives or the proactive development of local change activitiesDevelop succession plans and people to meet business needs.Drive performance management through effective objective-setting coaching, direction, and evaluation of others within the organization.Responsible for leading, directing, and overseeing the overall operation of highly automated manufacturing operations to ensure alignment with the company’s strategic plans and vision, including short-term and long-term objectives.Manages business operations with an emphasis on executing operational policies and strategies, implementing initiatives to increase profits through performance and future-focused productivity improvements.· Manages business operations with an emphasis on implementing initiatives to increase profits through performance and future-focused productivity improvements.· Collaborates with the executive team across the organization, with a view to scoping out project requirements and moving forward on achievement of project deliverables, troubleshooting, and resolving problems as required.· Create and develop new methods, operations procedures, and systems in production management and team management to improve efficiency and performance and ensure effective and consistent support and execution.Qualifications: Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology or Business or equivalent (10 years manufacturing leadership experience)Food or beverage industry experience preferred.Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Union Operations/Lean Management, preferably with dairy industry experience, and with P&L responsibility at the plant level is necessary.Experience in being the lead change agent in complex transformational activities.Significant experience in implementation of complex Lean principles as they apply to manufacturing operations.Formal Lean training from an “academy” organization – either through direct consulting experience or via organizations with deep, well-established lean operating systems.Ability to analyze problems and provide innovative solutions.Proven success designing, implementing, communicating, and meeting KPI goals, including reducing supply chain costs, improving throughout, shortening cycle time, and improving inventory turns.Expert business knowledgeExcellent proven communication skillsJob Type: Full-timePay: $180,000.00 – $200,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:Monday to FridaySupplemental Pay:Bonus payWork Location: Multiple Locations
