Job Description : | As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for supporting Fluids Systems Components to perform development, qualification and acceptance testing of vehicle flight components and sub-assemblies. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of operation of high pressure fluid systems, cryogenic fluids and data acquisition systems. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. In this dynamic position, the candidate can expect to interact with multiple teams to ensure requirements are gathered and implemented when servicing fluid components through the workcenter. Candidate can also expect to supprot the following: Support tooling design and modification of part specific tooling for fluid system components Write work orders to control order of operations and key hold, buy-off, and inspection steps Work alongside tooling engineers, welding engineers, and skilled trades to realize functional work cell for producing tube and tank space flight hardware Define requirements for custom engineered tooling systems, write equipment specifications, manage external equipment suppliers, and implement the solution Proven experience and successful track record in support of a matrix organization Proven experience with sub-component and large scale assemblies and integration Strong written, personal, and computer skills. Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately at the executive leadership level and on the shop floor Setup new production work areas, including layouts, tooling and equipment setup, etc. Assist with transition from development to production, including first articles Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct malfunctions by modification, rework, repair, and/or maintenance. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrence control Support vehicle checkouts such as fluid lines leak checks and full vehicle power-on system checks Develop and author work instructions for the Fluid Component Support area Supervisor / Manager to develop specialized training/OJT packages as required. Ensure area meets strict FOD and 5S requirements Ensure area meets all Blue Origin specifications relative to Fluid System Components. Assist in the forecasting and developing recovery plans for constraints critical to vehicle delivery schedule. Interface with area leadership to prioritize work based on production schedule and organizational goals. Implement and refine new manufacturing processes. Work with engineering to document and standardize production processes. Collaborate with engineering to develop production ready manufacturing processes. Develop and author work instructions and provide recommended changes where necessary. Ensure product quality and conformance to engineering specifications. Develop and implement cost reductions processes and efficiency improvement measures. Support the setup new production work areas, including layouts, and equipment setup, etc. Perform precision cleaning and fluid component reconditioning Qualifications Required 15 years of experience in the assembly and test of aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle fluid systems components, or equivalent relevant industry experience. 15 years of experience working in a clean room environment Previous manufacturing experience in a critical clean room environment Approachable disposition, broad-minded and open to rapid changing requirements Calming demeanor in high pressure situations with tenacity to resolve conflict for permanent problem resolution Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident Desired Experience with Creo Parametric, Creo View, Windchill, and Jules software applications Experience with rapid development techniques for hardware Knowledge of high pressure, cryogenic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical power systems. Familiarity with energetic devices.
