Job Description The Equipment Automation Engineering Technician has a minimum of an Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics or similar with 5 years’ experience. An incomplete BSCS, BSEET, BSEE degree with a specialized interest in applied mathematics and software and similar professional experience in machine-process automation is also acceptable as the individual is working to complete a degree with the relevant technical experience working as an engineering technician. This team contributor supports the engineering staff to co-develop a process control concept into machinery, create/support/modify software and hardware on existing machinery or design new machine-based process controls to meet manufacturing requirements. Hands on circuit builds, schematic creation, process controls, documentation, and reporting are important duties. Some experience and additional training in automated systems integration, software development, computer science, machine controls and robotics is preferred. Technical experience should include a variety of skilled objectives related to automated industrial process control and data collaboration between people and machines. Skill development opportunities include a long list of technologies such as HMI devices, computer hardware, computer software, networking, PLC hardware, electronics, optics, component level design and fabrication, electrical layouts, pneumatics, hydraulics, motion control, machine vision, lasers, safety systems, and CAD. Learning opportunities are offered by on the job experience, team collaboration, additional technical classes, and programming language certifications. The technician works across the facility, interfacing with all process departments and technical disciplines. Qualifications MUST be able to qualify for a Secret Level Security Clearance. Minimum ASEET with 5 years industrial electronics experience. Or Minimum of a 70% complete BSCS, BSEE, BSEET with a mix of computer science and electrical engineering. Proficient mathematical foundation, applied programming. Visual Studio.Net (C++, C#), Access, SQL, MS Office, MS Project, MS Windows, Rockwell, CAD Knowledge of electronic components and systems. Industrial Networking, PLC and PC based control systems environments. Electronics communication. Good analytical, mathematical, applied sciences and programming skills. Team player, communicator, self-motivated, eager to learn, innovator. Adaptability among different languages and styles and industrial standards. Preferred Skills: Programming experience with adaptability among many languages.
