Job Opening for Engineering Specialist Facilities in Ford Motor Company (Livonia, MI)

As part of our Manufacturing team, you’ll help build the world-class, state-of-the-art smart vehicles the world expects from us. Within our plants around the world, we’re constantly developing new technologies and processes to further increase our efficiency. That means we’re continually seeking diligent, determined performers who think creatively to help us find better and more efficient ways to manufacture our vehicles.

What you’ll be able to do:
Work as part of the facility engineering and maintenance team (Center Area) to engineer and estimate proposed facility upgrade projects. Write MEARS draft and submit for funding.
Manage facility contracts such as Roof repairs and replacement, Janitorial services, AGV services, snow and lawn maintenance services, elevator inspections, fire protection system repairs etc.
Manage hydrocarbon commodity supplier for cost reduction in oil & chemical usage.
Provide engineering support for Powerhouse and WWTP operations including maintenance planning and purchase of spares.
Provide engineering support for maintenance of transmission fluid pumping systems.
Provide engineering support for maintenance of chillers, HVAC systems and cooling towers. Initiate and plan annual maintenance activities.
Work closely with skilled trades to execute facility projects and day-to-day maintenance tasks.
Coordinate CA activities with production departments to achieve annual plant objectives such as: Reduction in energy, chemical usage, water usage.
Occasionally provide Supervision support for Maintenance Process Coach.
Learn Livonia Transmission Plant’s BMS system and use the system to optimize energy usage.
Purchase maintenance materials for projects and daily maintenance.
Provide engineering support for plant security system, traffic gates, cameras, and turnstiles.
Any other facility engineering task as advised by the Team Manager

The minimum requirements we seek:
High school diploma / GED
4 or more years experience as Facility engineer / manufacturing engineer
Excellent verbal & written communication skills
Our Preferred Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
Basic knowledge of facility electrical systems
Experience of working with UAW skilled trades in automotive manufacturing
Knowledge of Ford Systems MAXIMO, MEARS, WF1 and Ariba, FIS
Working knowledge of Microsoft Apps: Excel / Word / Outlook
