This role supports Engineering Project Managers in the implementation of Capex investments or projects from business case and technical design through to successful on-site execution and commissioning, including delivery and support of best in class Engineering/Maintenance.
Core Responsibilities
Strategy design and execution
Contribute to the design of local Engineering strategy by providing Engineering Managers with project feasibility infor-mation
Participate in the design of tactical plans and execute related operational objectives.
Project management
Participate in the preparation of business cases and related project plans and execute these upon approval by spon-sor(s) and steering committee(s).
Monitor day to day aspects of projects including quality of work product, client communications, budget, schedule, and coordinating technical staff (internal and external) and run regular reporting to higher management and stakeholders about project progress.
Work with production, safety and laboratory managers as well as external specialists and authorities to create specifica-tion sheets, design and detailed plans respecting all norms and regulations as well as EHS standards.
Maintain quality control of deliverables, demonstrating technical excellence, objectivity and clarity, adherence to pro-ject schedules, applicable quality management standards, safety and security regulations.
Write and compile all required technical reports that summarize results from tests and feasibility assessments, recom-mended improvement opportunities, calculated associated savings, and estimated incentives.
Negotiate contracts with suppliers and place orders in collaboration with the purchasing department.
Support project managers in resource and contingency planning.
Controls contractors on site for the projects managed.
Executes the project plan(s) within approved budget
Academic Background
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or related discipline.
Plant Engineering or Maintenance Certification.
Project Management Certification.
Professional experience
1 to 5 years of experience in engineering, including exposure to engineering projects involving resources from diverse disciplines
Technical Skills
Good knowledge of EHS rules and guidelines.
Good command in stakeholder management and communications.
Basics of financial concepts (e.g. OPEX, CAPEX) and tools (e.g. SAP) |
