Job Summary:
This position will require an experienced Electrical / Controls Engineer to oversee the development and support of all EE Training and Documentation processes. This will include documentation and dissemination of changes regarding Customer Specifications and New Product Initiatives within MHS as well as outside vendors.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate with EE Project Execution to develop routine Training Curriculum across all disciplines.
Coordinate with ME for CadLearning training curriculum.
Develop Work Instructions for standard Electrical Engineering processes.
Develop process for dissemination of Customer Spec changes and new Product Integration requirements.
Develop routine training session schedule with outside vendors.
Coordinate with ME and EE Project Execution to develop infrastructure and processes for Project Emulation.
Provide oversight to department and engineering team ensuring assigned projects adhere to scheduled deadlines, maintaining project operating efficiencies and work quality to company and customer standards.
Effectively manage and allocate resources to team and project needs
Recruit, lead and develop Engineering team to provide progressive career growth, creating a pipeline of talent for business needs
Perform management administrative tasks in a timely manner, (e.g. performance reviews, timecard, expenses, and travel)
Provide guidance on design, technical direction, and resources to team
Collaborate cross-functionally with customers and other company departments to trouble shoot project issues, providing a cost effective and timely solutions.
Resource demand vs capacity planning and assigning resources to projects in a dynamic demand environment
Accountable for project performance to schedule, and quality and accuracy of engineering deliverables. Conduct project check-ins for quality and timing of project deliverables.
Accountable for project cost forecasting and performance to budget.
And other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Experience developing online content with SharePoint.
Skilled in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint.
Organized with attention to detail.
Ability to accept and adapt to changing internal and external customer expectations.
Knowledge of project execution process – Sales, Estimating, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain (Procurement and Manufacturing), Mechanical Installation, Commissioning, Acceptance Testing and Turnover to customer.
Basics skills in scheduling using Microsoft Project preferred.
Ability to evaluate engineering processes and identify areas for improvement and pursue changes needed to improve efficiency, quality, and schedule performance
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to build and maintain productive work relationships
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering or related field.
Minimum of 5 years’ engineering experience, preferred experience in the material handling industry.
3 years’ experience progressively managing a team is preferred.
Minimum 2 years experience developing training documents and processes for a technical group.
Other Qualifications Desired:
Ability to accept and adapt to changing internal and external customer expectations.
Physical Requirements:
General office environment with normal sitting, standing and minimal, nominal lifting.
PPE may be required at customer locations.
Some climbing may be required at customer locations.
Other Relevant Information:
Valid Driver’s License Required.
Travel Requirements:
Travel required, up to 25%.
