| Job Description : | Job Title: EMT & Transmission Power Quality Studies Summer Student Engineer Location: Knoxville, TN Job Summary and Description: This is an opportunity to support and learn power system EMT studies, Harmonic studies, GIC simulations, data analysis, SSO studies and software tool development on projects related to special studies in transmission system planning. Job Functions: Work with senior level engineers to support power system simulations, EMT studies, Harmonic studies, GIC simulations, data analysis Assist in research and analytics for the modeling and simulation of transmission special studies, in areas including but not limited to steady-state, dynamic, and transient response. Ideal Candidate: Working toward a Masters of Science degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering Direct experience with commercial tools, specifically EMTP, PSS/E Strong mathematics, analytics, and software skills. Experience with one or more programming languages such as Python or MATLAB is a plus Strong verbal and written communication skills EPRI participates in E-Verify, an online system operated jointly by the Department of Homeland Security and the Social Security Administration (SSA). EPRI uses the system to check the work status of new hires by comparing information from the employee’s I-9 form against SSA and Department of Homeland Security databases.
