Job Description
The overall objective of the Equipment Engineering Group is to conceive, develop and commercialize industrial food packaging systems that deliver value to our customers, and support the growth of the global Sealed Air Total Business. Customer value is obtained by delivering high performing, reliable and cost-effective equipment automation solutions, and new technologies.
This position will be responsible for the design and development of controls, electronics, and software for automated packaging systems. As an individual contributor and as a cross-functional team member with other controls engineers, mechanical engineers, tech service and tech sales, efforts will also include research, lab testing and field trials. All new designs and modifications to existing systems will comply technical specifications, meet all applicable safety codes, and be fully documented.
Responsibilities
System integration of various equipment controls supporting Equipment Automation initiatives.
PLC, HMI, VFD and Servo programming for new designs and support of legacy systems.
Drive technical advancements in conceptualization, layout, design, in-house testing, field-qualification and documentation.
Electrical design and integration design for industrial conveyance and packaging equipment.
Support supply chain for component and sub-system obsolescence and technology upgrades.
Ensure compliance with all applicable safety and regulatory standards, i.e., NEC, NFPA79.
Support manufacturing relating to customer orders, inventory, parts, and documentation.
Support customer issues, questions, and troubleshooting.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Excellent communication, problem solving and teamwork skills.
Proficiency with Draftsight or AutoCAD 2D schematic packages.
Knowledge of PLC and HMI program design for industrial equipment.
Ability to travel domestic and international.
Preferred
Experience designing equipment for harsh environments.
Familiarity with UL and CE regulations.
