Job Description
SUMMARY
The Electrical Engineer I conceptualizes, designs, develops, tests and manufactures electronics for space and defense products and systems. This position collaborates with engineering teammates on the integration of electronic systems with mechanical systems and in the development and/or production of electromechanical systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supports the electrical engineering group in all aspects of design, development, test, analysis, and manufacturing
Assists with basic analog and digital circuit and harness designs in accordance with customer requirements and industry standards
Creates formal or informal electrical engineering drawings of schematics/PCBs/ harnesses/test equipment and bill of materials
Performs basic electrical engineering calculations and simulations
Assists in test activities throughout the product development lifecycle and assists in writing test procedures and test reports
Develops test equipment and harnesses for a multi-discipline team to provide total integrated support to multiple clients
Performs basic circuit analysis tasks of circuit design to ensure safe and reliable operation
Assists in selecting, using, and creating specifications for electronic component and/or subassembly procurement
Interacts with technical staff regarding proposal and business development activities
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
Typically possesses 0 to 3 years of aerospace, defense, and/or avionics experience
Solid understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals
Knowledge of military specifications and industry standards preferred
Familiarity with surface mount and through-hole soldering, de-soldering, harness build, and PCB prototyping
Familiarity with digital devices including microcontrollers, discrete logic, etc. (raspberry pi, BBB, Arduino, etc.)
Familiarity with electrical test equipment including oscilloscope, DMM, power supplies
Familiarity with C/C++/C#, Python, Matlab
Knowledge of schematic capture, PCB layout, and simulation tools such as OrCAD and PSPICE/LTSPICE
Must be a U.S. Citizen
