EHS Manager
As an Environmental Health & Safety Manager you will assist the EH&E client team in maintaining the EH&S program for a Boston area hospital. Activities will include ensuring compliance with government safety regulations and industry standards related to the environment, equipment, and processes in working and patient care areas. Full in-house training in managing Joint Commission (TJC) Environment of Care (EC) activities will be offered. Experience with risk assessments and auditing is essential as are strong communication skills. Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Technical Expertise:
Conducts and oversees the EC/Safety programs in accordance with federal, state, and local government regulations and agencies’ policies (including TJC, CMS, and NFPA standards; training will be provided with any knowledge deficits)
Participates in and may lead EC/Safety specific recurring meetings
Perform pre-construction risk assessments, auditing sites, and providing education to contractors and internal stakeholders
Conducts industrial hygiene and/or environmental monitoring
Ability to apply basic regulatory compliance and scientific principles to EH&E’s work while developing observational ability and functional analytical skills in discipline.
Sales & Client Relations:
Regularly consults with members of the client’s Facilities & Maintenance departments and fire and compliance specialist personnel on inspection findings and provide appropriate recommendations based on regulatory compliance and best practice guidance
Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the business by presenting a positive, professional, and respectful image to our clients
Identify potential opportunities to senior staff
Deliver services on projects that meet or exceed client expectations.
QA/QC:
Collect quality data as well as field data by other project staff
Coordinates and implements programs.
Training/Mentoring:
Willingness and openness to professional development
Prepares and delivers classroom-based and online EH&S training programs. Updates written materials with code compliance changes as needed
Conducts follow-up with various stakeholders as needed.

Communication and reports:
Written and verbal communication skills are essential as you will be contributing to reports
Clearly communicate technical concepts while maintaining context and understanding the audience.

Key Skills:

Education / Training:
Bachelor’s degree in safety, industrial hygiene, public health, emergency management, natural & physical sciences or relatable degree
Professional certification eligibility, active membership in a professional organization. |
