Job Description : | Location: Lynn, MA, 01910Duration: 12 MonthsPay rate: $35.00/hour on w2 without benefitsHours: Monday – Friday 7 am – 3 pmRole Summary/PurposeClient is seeking a Digital/Electro-Mechanical Technician for the Lynn Test Systems Engineering Team. The Technician will be responsible for highly-detailed applications, routing, terminations and quality checks of unique test instrumentation needed to validate the mechanical design and performance of development test engines.Essential ResponsibilitiesExecute the following tasks with direction from senior engineering resources:The application of specialized test instrumentation including but not limited to strain gages, accelerometers, magnetic pick-ups, optical tip timing probes and capacitance (clearance) probesThe routing of specialized test sensors at the component-level and throughout assembly for development test turbo-shaft and turbo-fan enginesTest instrumentation wire terminations at the component and module levels during assembly and within the test facility throughout engine setupEnd-to-end signal quality checks of test instrumentation completed at various times during assembly and during engine setupUse of various glues, epoxies, heat guns, spot weld and oven operations to apply and route specialize test instrumentationFabrication or assembly of cables, harnesses and set up of other data recording equipment needed to support development engine testingSupport maintenance initiatives of lab equipment used for instrumentation applicationsPerform basic electro / mechanical mathematical function conversionsUtilize understanding of Ohms Law principalsRemain compliant with Engine Assembly Quality initiatives to ensure safe and successful engine testsRemain compliant with Environmental Health & Safety initiatives at Assembly and Test FacilitiesCommunicate any instrumentation or sensor quality issues to senior engineers and support process improvement initiatives to correct issuesMentor junior Technicians on application, routing, termination and sensor quality check processesQualifications / RequirementsAssociate degree in an applicable technical discipline from an accredited school or institution (i.e. Aviation Maintenance, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Technology, Chemical Technology, etc.) OR a high school diploma/GED with 2 years of work experience in a manufacturing or testing environmentDesired CharacteristicsStrong oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsAbility to work independentlyStrong problem-solving skillsBe flexible and a self-starterDemonstrate an aptitude for continuous learningExperience in the operation and setup of Dynamic Data recording & monitoring equipment and softwareA&P licenseJob Types: Full-time, ContractSalary: $30.00 – $35.00 per hourSchedule:8 hour shiftExperience:Digital/Electro/Mechanical Technician: 1 year (Required)Work Location: One location |
