A Controls Engineer will be responsible for most technical duties as well as some advanced technical duties associated with the installation of various types of HVAC control systems. The role is designed for professional development with the intent of preparing the Controls Engineer for greater technical capacity and additional financial responsibility.
Education and Experience:
College degree or equivalent experience
2+ years of experience. Preferably in HVAC building automation programing
Computer Science or Computer Engineering degrees preferred
Valid driver’s license and evidence of insurability
General

Participate in or lead a change management committee that helps to further develop company goals coinciding with organizational growth
Engineering
Custom hardware design for most HVAC control systems
Design of Graphical User Interface for HVAC control systems
Configurable and custom software programming for HVAC control systems
Generate project submittals and IOM manuals
Assist with the development of templates for engineering tools
Installation
Responsible for the loading, device verification, and commissioning of system controllers as required
Complete and maintain project commissioning documentation (check out and commissioning sheets) and as-built documentation
Light field device installation may be required. Must be able to work with hand tools and climb laters
Training:
Responsible for jointly planning annual development and training plan with supervisor
Participate in all safety trainings offered as part of the OCS safety program
Participate in regular formal training ~ 2 weeks classroom training annually
Actively participate in regular informal training sessions inside the office and on the jobsite
Knowledge:
Requires critical thinking skills, self-motivation, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
Mechanical and / or electrical aptitude, excellent problem solving skills, critical thinking skills and decisive judgment skills are a must
Other Requirements
This is a physical / construction type of position. It will require but not be limited to standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and crawling. This position will also require being up on ladders and lifting. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Maintain accurate time and job records
Work as part of our team to ensure customer satisfaction
May be required to satisfy other requirements imposed by specific projects, customers, or company needs, including to be vaccinated for the flu and/or Covid-19 and similar, subject to all applicable laws
Valid driver’s license (including a clean driving record) and evidence of insurability

Full Time, 40 Hours / week. Overtime is a possibility but does have to be preapproved. Daily travel to job sites, generally in the state of Florida (but not limited to)
