Job Opening for Continuous Improvement Engineer in Taber Extrusions (915 S Elmira Ave, Russellville, AR 72802)

As a continuous improvement / quality engineer, you will be responsible for improving product / process quality and increasing process efficiency by reducing variation in the inputs to manufacturing and other business operations. You will also ensure customer satisfaction by improving products and processes through risk analysis.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Promote safety, quality, and efficiency in the plant
Exhibit a strong quality first mentality and ensure that product and process quality are held to the highest standard
Perform process audits to assess compliance, capability, and effectiveness
Monitor, report, and respond to results of finished goods audits
Implement a working system to ensure conformity and accuracy in the production process
Evaluate and identify current process metrics and performance to identify areas requiring improvements.
Analyze and identify opportunities to reduce process variation, improve process capabilities and optimize process performance
Lead product and manufacturing process improvements thru engineering changes
Develop inspection planning methods for an accurate and efficient inspection process
Investigate and resolve issues impacting customer satisfaction
Develop standard procedures and policies to be followed by Operations
Be part of training process for employees on new manufacturing practices
Adhere to AS9100D / ISO9001 requirements
Adhere to all company quality and safety policies / procedures and maintain a clean work environment
As needed, be part of RFQ process
Other duties as needed

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Degree in quality, industrial, or mechanical engineering
2 – 4 years of experience in quality engineering, quality assurance or continuous improvement

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Solid communication and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a strong personal drive for success
Organization and time management skills are critical
Excellent project management skills
Competency in using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
Experience with Plex and EPICS is an advantage
Experience with ISO9001 and / or AS9100D ASQ certification is an advantage
ASQ certification is an advantage
