Summary of Job Function: Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in the operation and maintenance of main boiler room, incinerator, heat recovery boiler room, air compressors and HVAC systems and equipment. Schedules shifts and oversees daily operation of high pressure steam generating plant and auxiliary equipment. Responsible for weekly reports identifying, but not limited to, the following; fuel oil and natural gas consumption, water, BTU s produced, make-up water generated, chiller plant. Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors, etc. Insure that [unit/department/division] is in compliance with all applicable policies, laws and regulations. Job Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent with courses in chemistry, physics and mathematics or vocational school training with stationary engineering courses. 5 years experience as a Stationary Engineer with demonstrated ability to lead and direct the daily operation of the plant and assigned staff. A State of New Jersey Stationary Engineer s Red Seal License is mandatory. Must possess and maintain a valid N.J. State Driver s License.
