In this role, you have the opportunity to make life better: Rewarding opportunity to help ensure product safety through working with the Biological Safety Engineering team through test result analysis by applying six sigma and statistical methods You are responsible for: Contribute to the design of statistical sample size and sample strategy for Biological Safety test procedures. Support test result analysis by applying six sigma and statistical methods. Correlate test results from many contract laboratories and perform root cause analysis on failure modes. Support the process improvement and CAPA process activities for the Biological Safety team. Perform/Analyze Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Design of Experiments (DOE) Statistical analysis- deviation in results and statistical methods of characterizing failure modes You are a part of: Philips’ Sleep & Respiratory Care is dynamic Healthcare Technology organization that designs and develops life-saving Respiratory Care products. To succeed in this role, you’ll need a customer-first attitude and the following: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field (MS desired) Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in Design of Experiments, Data Analysis, Root Cause analysis and FMEA’s DFSS or Six Sigma Black Belt Certified Strong statistical background to analyze deviation in results and explain statistical methods of characterizing failure modes Strong communication and leadership skills Experience with CAPA and Root Cause Analysis tools Strong ability to multitask across many projects in a fast-paced environment Ability to explain complex concepts in easy-to-understand terms, able to catch people’s attention. Strong team player skills Medical device product development experience and/or strong understanding of medical device regulations and related standards Strong independent worker with little or no guidance a must. Ability to overcome obstacles and provide solutions to complex problems. Strong written and verbal communications skills. Additional skills that are preferred Knowledge of biological test methods for compliance to ISO 10993 and ISO 18562 Experience conducting biological assessments and documenting biological test evidence to support FDA submittals Experience working with outside test labs to generate test plans and evaluate results for compliance to biological standards Basic understanding of global medical device regulations, requirements, and standards preferred Familiarity with FDA 2020 Guidance Document “Use of International Standard ISO 10993-1”US work authorization is a precondition of employment.
