Job Description : Construction Project Engineer – Multi FamilyWe are looking for a dynamic and versatile individual to become an integral part of our construction management team. Our team is a small tight knit group of 16 people that manage $50 million worth of construction projects in Washington. Our projects are fast paced, and we rely on each other to complete the work.These projects range from scope renovation to ground up construction projects. Your job will be to work on initial bids, job set up, commitments, change order management, project schedules, site inspections, warranty and project close out documentation. The work will sometimes include out of town and overnight stay to perform these tasks.Team goal: Live our values and become part of our team. Your role will be instrumental in maintaining our customer experience and support the way Bode does business.Become an integral member of the Major Projects Team.Complete a thorough training of our division’s operational procedures.Be assigned to work with a Project Manager(s) and Superintendent(s) to complete construction projects.Learn how commercial modular structures are assembled and installed.Develop relationships with our vendors and customers.Be directly involved with the assembling of estimates/bids on various projects.Your responsibilities will grow as does your knowledge and expertise. We will provide you with opportunities to be mentored, take classes, share your insights and participate in process improvement discussions.Participate in Major Projects yearly event. An offsite event for 2-3 days during which we celebrate the previous year, work on improvement plans, and simply have a lot of fun.What technical knowledge will you need?Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of software (Outlook, Word, Project, Teams, and Excel)General knowledge of Design Software such as Blue Beam Revu, Smartsheet and MS Project.Understand Project plans and Specifications.In charge of turning in submittals from subcontractors to A/E and owner for approval for all scopes of work based of the plans and specifications.Coordinates project change order management, creation, negotiation between Project Manager and Owner.Maintain open communication between all project stakeholders and assist project team with conflict resolution between Owner, contractor and subcontractorHigh level understanding of cost coding, budget estimates, writing subcontract agreements and interpreting detailed scopes of workProven ability to navigate project management software programs (SAGE 300 or Procore would be a big plus)Assist the project team with documenting job progress, schedule.Creating and distributing project closeout material, O and M manuals to owner once project is complete.Assist Project Accountant with monthly subcontractor billings and pay applications.The function is to manage and support the field operations onprojects. Report to the Project Manager, but primary responsibility will be to ensure the Superintendent and crew have the materials,equipment, and information necessary to complete the job and as an extension of the Project Manager, the PE is ultimately responsible for understanding and accomplishing the customer’s goals Familiarize yourself with the site conditions and scopes of work. Prepare quantity takeoffs as required. Assist Project Manager in review of contracts and proposals. Review specifications and scope of work. Prepare and distribute RFI’s and submittals. This is probably a ME role requirement in our model.o Manage project specific materials and equipment purchases including: sourcing, maintaining vendor relations, ordering and tracking deliveries, and receiving and processing invoices. Prepare (Assist) and issue of purchasing documents (i.e.: Subcontracts, Purchasing Orders, Service Agreements) with the Project Manager. Assist with the preparation of a cost sheet for each project to maintain purchasing control. Support field in expediting schedule, completion of field paperwork, expediting materials. Support Operations and Project Manager with client communication regarding project schedules. Maintain customer relationships. Develop site specific Safety Programs in coordination with Safety Manager, Site Superintendent and Project Manager. Collaborate with Project Manager and Superintendent to prepare and submit Change Orders to the customer. Assist and support Project Manager by attending project meetings with General Contractor, Owner, Architect, and others. Attend and setup punch list walk-through as needed; compile the punch list and forward to Project Manager and Foreman. Provide required close out information to the client at the end of the project (record drawings, O&M, warranties) Assist PM to make sure the project is 100% closed out with Accounting. Keep the Client’s best interests in mind. Establish good working relationship with other team members. Foster positive communications and relationships with team members, management, vendors and clients. Keep up to date on industry trends and developments. Adhere to company policies and procedures. Actively participate in all project meetingsWhat qualifications do you need?3-5 years’ experience for a developer or general contractor.BS Construction Mgmt. or equivalent experience.OSHA 10 Hour Certification preferredSuccessfully ensure the accuracy of a project documentation from RFIs to Submittals to Change orders and close out.Strong communication skills, including excellent ability to identify and understand requirement of the project to the team and to participate in collaborating problem solving meetings.Job Type: Full-timePay: $50,000.00 – $95,000.00 per yearBenefits:Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:Monday to FridayOn callExperience:Construction: 3 years (Preferred)Work Location: Multiple Locations
