Job Description : Dorse & Company, a manufacturers’ representative, serving the HVAC Construction Industry for over 55 years, is searching for an Application Engineer for HVAC Equipment. Our business model is the sale of HVAC equipment to HVAC mechanical contractors. Dorse & Company has two locations; corporate in Seattle, and a branch in Spokane. This position involves working with consulting mechanical engineers, building owners, and facility managers in Eastern Washington to promote and support our products. This position would report to our Spokane office. A working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and specialty equipment software is required. A candidate would have strong mechanical aptitude for HVAC air movement and air control devices and a working knowledge of controls and mechanical equipment. The ability to educate and proficiently communicate with others regarding product characteristics and performance is essential.Focus The Application Engineer will focus on the technical promotion of the products represented by Dorse & Co. and will strive to have our products as basis of design in construction documents. This position will interface with consulting mechanical engineers, architects, building owners, facility managers, end users, and other entities as deemed appropriate to achieve the basis of design. The ability to educate others regarding product characteristics, performance, and selection is essential.Responsibilities (training provided): Maintain competency throughout all products represented; additional specialization in specific areas or product families is acceptable and encouraged.Convey knowledge of products to consulting engineers, and others mentioned in Focus, in a timely manner with efficiency, correctness, and completeness.Provide input/ideas for the promotion of our products.Provide equipment selections to designers based on the specific application.
