Assist on the manufacturing engineering and design engineering of sustaining production, continuous improvement projects (CIP) and other manufacturing/mechanical projects. Interface with New Product Introduction Team (NPI) for handover of designs as products move from NPI to production.ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Develop/maintain detailed work instructions to support production linesEstimate manufacturing cycle times and deploy standards in manufacturing software systemConstruct/read/utilize Manufacturing and Assembly drawings using Solid Works CAD drawing systemConceptualize and create design adaptations for cutting tools, shop aids, fixtures, and support toolsEnsure proper tool and machine standards are followed and optimized (i.e., tool life, clearances etc.)Support shop production to facilitate and deploy best known methods and improvementsDevelop/maintain detailed process routings using an automated manufacturing software systemWill commonly use geometry and trigonometry in product definition and problem solutionsWork on cross functional teams for process improvement and cost reductionConfer with vendors to determine specifications and arrange for the purchase of parts or servicesComply with applicable environmental, health and safety laws and regulations, Company policy and accepted safe work practicesUnderstand the importance of designing, building, and operating safe systems. Basic knowledge and understanding of basic safety work processes such as JSA’s and MOC’sDemonstrate commitment in the successful EH&S management of processes and facilitiesEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: BS in Mechanical Engineering or 5 years’ experience2-5 years of engineering/manufacturing experienceMachining engineering experience/knowledge requiredOther industrial manufacturing experience acceptedExperienced in SolidWorks designAbility to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documentsAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formEffective presentation skills in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employeesRespond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaintsProficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Excellent verbal and written communication skillsBENEFITS:We offer a full complement of benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability, generous time off plan, and a 401k saving plan with a 30% match!FM Industries2101 W.
